Slab Serif
Originating at the beginning of the 19th Century during the Industrial Revolution, Slab Serif style fonts were used for advertising posters and flyers. Slab Serif fonts are characterized by heavy, unbracketed, rectangular serifs. These serifs are either equal or almost equal to the thickness of the character strokes.
