Humanist
Humanist fonts emerged in the 1930s to combat overly-geometric fonts. Inspired by Renaissance typefaces, Humanist fonts take on the structural qualities of the Italian Old Style. Humanist style fonts have moderate stroke contrast, uneven widths, and a classic, but soft and easy-to-read appearance. A well-known Humanist typeface is Gill Sans®.
